Athletistic/Others. The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, said that the authorities of some states are violating the autonomy of sports, depriving international sports federations of the right to organize competitions and independently decide on admission athletes at tournaments.

Bach noted that the actions of these political forces actually mean interference in the functions of international federations. He pointed out that some countries seek to control athlete participation and the location of events, as well as create their own politically motivated sporting events.

The IOC president expressed concern that such actions by states could lead to politicization of sport and threaten the autonomy of international federations. In his speech, he called for fighting against politicized sports and stressed that participation in such politically motivated events should not be supported.
