Earlier, IOC President Thomas Bach said the decision to suspend the Russian Olympic Committee’s (ROC) membership in the organization did not imply the automatic imposition of similar sanctions against Russian sports federations by the international federations.
“This decision is unfair and illegal in relation to the ROC. In the past, they have already suspended our athletes, then made recommendations on their admission. Now they are making the same mistakes. They suspended IOC membership, all by advising against “excluding the federation is illogical and absurd. Bach doesn’t know how to get out of the situation he has put himself in. Athletes and the development of world sport suffer,” Svishchev stressed.
