The veteran forward will not help Milan in their home battles with Fiorentina and Frosinone
Forward Milana Olivier Giroud received a two-game suspension Italian championship.
The reason for the punishment was a red card received during stoppage time of the 12th round match against Lecce (2:2) for arguing with the referee.
According to the regulations, the 37-year-old forward could face a four-match disqualification, in accordance with the clause about “offensive or disrespectful behavior towards match officials.”
The Frenchman escaped with only two missed championship matches. Without him, Milan will play at home against Fiorentina (November 25) and Frosinone (December 2). At the same time, in the match against Borussia Dortmund (November 28), Giroud will be available, since domestic Italian sanctions do not apply to the Champions League.
Milan failed to win in the fourth round in a row. At the same time, Stefano Pioli’s team continues to occupy third place in Serie A with 23 points.
