Ginsburg’s team is very close to the playoff zone
Prometheus defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv in a nominally home match of the seventh round of Group A Eurocup — 98:89.
The visitors started the match in Riga more successfully, but gradually the Ukrainian team managed to turn the tide of the game. However, in the second quarter the fight was equal, and the teams went into the long break with Hapoel’s minimal advantage.
Ronen Ginzburg’s team improved in the third quarter and by the end of it managed to increase their advantage, which they maintained in the decisive period.
The first victory in three rounds – and Prometheus rises to seventh place, getting close to the playoff zone.
Just a week ago, the Israelis were undefeated, but now they suffered a second defeat in a row. Now Hapoel is third – outside the zone of direct passage to the quarter finals.
Next week, on November 22, Prometheus will face off against Venice, Italy. Before this, on the 18th, Ginzburg’s team will play against Pärnu in LEBL.
