Dubinchak: I hope that we can defeat Italy and qualify for the Euro

Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen

National team defender Ukraine Vladislav Dubinchak spoke about the atmosphere in the blue-yellow camp. The player also commented on the upcoming match with Italy in the qualification for Euro 2024.

“We often talk about the national team when the guys return from their location. They tell you what the atmosphere is like there. That’s why I’ve wanted to come here for a long time – it’s my childhood dream. I’m very glad to be here, I’m excited to work. Somewhat unexpectedly, but I am very glad that I received this challenge. I hope to justify the coach’s trust.”

“My competitors in the national team? Of course I know them. This is my old teammate Vitaly Mikolenko. We were together in the Dynamo youth team. When he was in the main team, I played on loan. Cool guy, I’m just glad that he plays in such a strong championship. I hope that I can compete with him, but we’ll see.”

“I watched all the matches of the Ukrainian national team, including the away match with Italy. Very good, strong team. There are players there that shouldn’t be mentioned, they perform at the world level. I hope we can beat them and qualify for the Euros.”

“Our foreign players are progressing, showing results, scoring, giving assists. This inspires those who are now playing in the Ukrainian championship and also strive to get into a strong championship.”

“As for Mikolenko’s scoring streak, I’m happy for Vitaly. He’s great. What he scores is an indicator of his work. He works a lot. I haven’t had a chance to talk to him yet, but I’ll definitely tell him that he’s great.”

“We haven’t talked to the coach yet. I think we’ll talk to him. While there was a theory. Everyone knows Sergei Rebrov, he is a well-known specialist, I really wanted to work with him.”

In Gdansk, Sergei Rebrov’s team will hold a sparring match on November 16 against Lechia, which is currently represented by Ukrainians Bogdan Sarnavsky, Ivan Zhelizko and Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass player Rifet Kapic.

The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C, three points ahead of Italy. Squadra Azzurra played one match less and will play against North Macedonia on November 17.

Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen (Germany) at the Bay Arena stadium, starting at 20:45 local time or at 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of qualifying began.
