The Ukrainian national team’s sparring match with Polish Lechia will take place on November 16 behind closed doors.

The start of the match is at 17:00 Kyiv time

Lechia (Gdansk) confirmed the test match against Ukrainian national team. It will take place tomorrow, November 16, and will be held behind closed doors.

The meeting starts at 16:00 local time or 17:00 Kyiv time. The sparring match will be hosted by the Polsat Plus Arena Gdansk stadium.

Let us remind you that it was in Gdansk that the Ukrainian national team began its training camp on November 13.

Earlier, the head coach of the blue-yellows, Sergei Rebrov, doubted the need for such sparring and announced “surprises in the lineup.” The mentor called 26 players to the November training camp. Among them there are two debutants: Dynamo defender Vladislav Dubinchak and LASK centerback Maxim Taloverov.

Lechia were relegated from the Polish Ekstraklasa at the end of last season. In Division 1, Szymon Grabowski’s team is in third place after 15 rounds, losing one point to Odra and three to Arka. Note that the teams from 1st to 9th places are separated by only seven points.

Currently playing for the club from Gdansk are Ukrainians Bogdan Sarnavsky, Ivan Zhelizko and Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass player Rifet Kapic.

The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C, three points ahead of Italy. Squadra Azzurra played one match less and will play against North Macedonia on November 17.

Sergei Rebrov’s team will play the decisive qualifying match with Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen (Germany) at the BayArena stadium. Starts at 20:45 local time or 21:45 Kyiv time. At the end of October, ticket sales for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of qualifying began.
