Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi has yet to achieve a single victory in Saint-Louis in two days. This time he drew three times, sharing the points with Frenchman Alireza Ferugia, Maxime Lagier-Lagrave and American Jeffrey Xiong. In two days, the Russian world vice-champion scored 2.5 points.
The tournament in St. Louis will end on November 19. From November 14 to 16, chess players will play in rapid format (25 minutes + 10 seconds per move), and on November 17 and 18, grandmasters will play in blitz format (5 minutes + 2 seconds per move). Note that for a victory in a quick round, players receive two points, for a draw – one; in blitz, one point for a victory, 0.5 points for a draw.
