Melgosa: Luxembourg and Azerbaijan must take care of their own preparation

The Ukrainian youth team will hold the next Euro 2025 qualifying matches

Head coach Ukrainian national team U-21 Unai Melgosa spoke about the team’s preparation for the upcoming qualifying matches European Championship 2025 With Luxembourg And Azerbaijan.

“Most of the players are fine. Except that Bragar has some problems with his leg after his weekend fight. We’ll see how he feels over the next few days.”

“In the first meeting with Luxembourg, given the score, 3:0, it might seem that it was an easy game. But that’s not true. We must draw conclusions from our own mistakes and respect this team. Respect means preparing and focusing on your own qualities and needs.”

“I think the Azerbaijani team showed two faces. Sometimes she defended very low and played through long passes. In other moments it was noticeable that this team is able to combine and has several young talents with good individual qualities.”

“As with Luxembourg, with Azerbaijan we need to take care of our own preparation. We all must understand that our performance depends on ourselves. Must do all the work, both on and off the field.”

“For now we must concentrate on the process, on how we do certain things, on our own learning. When attention shifts to something else, problems begin.”

Melgosa’s team will play against Luxembourg on November 17, and then meet with Azerbaijan on November 21. Let us remind you that nominally home matches for Ukraine in the qualification for the 2025 European Championship in November will be held in Murcia, Spain, at the Nueva Condomina stadium.

The Ukrainian U-21 team has nine points after three matches and is the sole leader of Group F. England and Serbia have 6 points each. Luxembourg, Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan each have three points after their opening matches.
