The collapsed cover damaged the cars of Carlos Sainz and Esteban Ocon

First practice Las Vegas Grand Prix in Formula 1 was canceled shortly after its start due to breakdowns on the track.

One of the manhole covers that were on the road was partially broken. The cover eventually damaged the cars of Carlos Sainz and Esteban Ocon, who passed over it.

We now need to check all the remaining hatches, which will take some time – we will discuss with the local circuit engineering team how long it will take to resolve the issue and will update the schedule to reflect any associated changes,” the FIA said in a statement.

Recall that Formula 1 returned to Las Vegas for the first time since 1982. The race should take place on a street track in the middle of the city.
