Only one of the three judges recorded the Mexican’s advantage, which was not enough for an overall victory
WBO super featherweight champion fight Emanuel Navarrete (38-1-1, 31 KOs) with the Brazilian title challenger Robson Conceicao (17-2-1, 8 KO, 1 KO) ended draw.
Navarrete forced his opponent to one knee in the fourth round. The Mexican then knocked Robson down again in the seventh round, but the Brazilian boxer signaled to the judges that it should not count as a knockdown.
Conceicao was inferior on all three judges’ cards before the last round, and actively spent the end of the fight, clearly winning the 12th three-minute round. As a result, two judges fixed the score 113:113one noted the advantage of Navarrete (114:112), which was not enough to ultimately determine the winner. The Mexican champion retained his WBO super featherweight title.
Navarrete’s fight with Conceicao took place on the undercard of Shakur Stevenson’s fight with Edwin De Los Santos. Shakur won by unanimous decision to capture the vacant WBC lightweight title.
