Jamaican sprinter Christopher Taylor has been suspended for 2.5 years for violating anti-doping rules, according to the website of the independent body to combat negative phenomena in athletics (AIU).
It is worth noting that the 24-year-old athlete refused to take an out-of-competition doping test on November 16, 2022. In January, Taylor agreed to a temporary suspension pending a final decision. The Jamaican then pleaded guilty to violating anti-doping rules, which resulted in an automatic reduction of the suspension period by one year.
Taylor’s results from November 16, 2022 to January 19, 2023 are void with all consequences, including forfeiture of medals, points and prize money. The athlete will be able to return to competition on May 15, 2025.
Taylor is the 2022 World Championships silver medalist in the 4x400m relay.
