Bayer’s leader managed to get ahead of Kane, Coman, Sane, Openda and teammate Frimpong
Midfielder Bayera Florian Wirtz recognized as the best football player of October in Germany Bundesliga.
Other contenders for the award were: Florian’s teammate, flanker Jeremy Frimpong; forward RB Leipzig Lois Openda; as well as the attacking trio from Bayern – Harry Kane, Leroy Sane And Kingsley Coman.
In three October league matches, Wirtz scored a goal and provided two assists. In total, this season he has 3+5 in the domestic championship and 6+10 (in 17 matches), if we take into account all tournaments.
Wirtz is only 20 years old, but he has already played 120 matches for Bayer and made 69 goals in them. He also has 12 matches and three assists for the German national team.
Pharmacists are in the lead in the current championship, having lost only two points in 11 rounds. In the Europa League, Xabi Alonso’s team won all four group stage matches with a total score of 12:2 – Wirtz contributed to exactly half of these goals.
Bayer will play their next match on November 25 away against Werder Bremen.
