Usik: It’s impossible to talk Fury out at press conferences, but I won’t allow myself to be pushed around

WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight title holder Alexander Usik commented on the clash with the WBC world champion Tyson Fury during the announcement of the fight for the undisputed title.

“Look, I think Tyson is number one in press conferences. He talks a lot. I can’t talk Tyson out. I’m trying, but I think it’s impossible for me. Tyson is first when it comes to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. This is good. I respect Tyson and his team. This is how I live.”

“But when Tyson touches me, I’m ready to fight. I’m always ready to fight. Every time, every night I’m ready to fight. But a press conference is a show. This is life for me, but if you want to push me, then I will not stand relaxed. This is my place, please don’t touch me. We’ll talk in the ring.”

Let us remember that during a duel of glances, Usyk and Fury collided with their foreheads and began to push. Tyson also, in his characteristic manner, began to insult the Ukrainian champion.

The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Initially, the fight between Usik and Fury was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.

Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.

Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
