On November 17, WADA Director General Olivier Niggli said that Russia had no right to organize and host the World Friendship Games due to the Agency’s failure to comply Russian Anti-Doping Code (RUSADA) of the World Anti-Doping Code. A few weeks earlier, the IOC had sent letters to all National Olympic Committees (NOCs) asking them to refuse to participate in competitions in Russia.
The World Friendship Games will take place in Moscow and Yekaterinburg from September 15 to 29, 2024. The competition program includes Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
