The decisive match in Group C will take place on November 20
Attack Italian national team Stefan El Shaarawy commented on the upcoming match with Ukraine in qualification European Championship 2024.
“I don’t know if I’ll start, but we’re all ready. We have to be much more decisive than in the match against North Macedonia because everything is at stake. We will need to play with great care, with great personal responsibility. We’re putting everything on the line.”
El Shaarawy came on as a substitute in the second half of the match with North Macedonia (5:2). The forward scored in stoppage time to set the final score.
The Italian team scored 13 points and displaced Ukraine from second place in Group C. To qualify for the Euro directly, Sergei Rebrov’s team needs to beat Squadra Azzurra with any score in a head-to-head match in the last round.
