Double Olympic swimming champion Evgeny Rylov declared that the suspension of membership Russian Olympic Committee V International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not surprise him in the context of current relations with the IOC.
In October, the IOC suspended the ROC’s membership until further notice due to the inclusion of the Olympic councils of the DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in the Russian committee. On November 6, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) registered the ROC’s appeal against this decision.
