The fight between Usik and Fury for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson analyzed the upcoming unification fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexander Usik and WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.
“We should not focus on what Fury did against Ngannou. Tyson is still the champion. He gave Francis an opportunity that night and it was just a bad night in the ring for him. We all have bad moments and that night was bad for Tyson.”
“I’m looking forward to the fight between Fury and Usyk. This will be an interesting fight. I’m picking Tyson Fury because I think he’ll beat him. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially at heavyweight. Great boxers lose and look bad, but that doesn’t stop them from being great.”
Let us remember that during a duel of glances, Usyk and Fury collided with their foreheads and began to push. Tyson also, in his characteristic manner, began to insult the Ukrainian champion.
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Initially, the fight between Usik and Fury was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
