Triple Olympic medalist Yulia Efimova became third in qualifying for the 50m breaststroke at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championships, held in St. Petersburg.
Efimova, who returned to competitive training at the end of October, covered the distance in 30.36 seconds. This Russian championship was the first for the 31-year-old athlete in two years.
The best result was Alina Zmushko (Belarus) – 29.99, the second was Evgenia Chikunova – 30.03.
