Athletistic / Others. Former Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov commented on the situation of the Friendship Games. Earlier, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) reported that Russia does not have the right to host competitions, since the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) does not comply with the WADA code.

“I am sure that all issues with WADA regarding the Friendship Games can be resolved through joint efforts. We must sign the necessary agreements and resolve organizational issues, including doping controls.

There is no such thing there, only legal issues. I have no doubt that RUSADA will be able to provide everything required, despite the loss of compliance.

The same IOC (International Olympic Committee) banned NOCs (national Olympic committees) from participating in competitions, as well as the ROC (Russian Olympic Committee), but they are not the organizers of the Friendship Games and do not form of teams.

I am sure that this pressure will not affect the athletes’ desire to participate. Those who are interested in these competitions will definitely come and the Friendship Games will take place,” Kolobkov told RIA Novosti.
