PFL founder: Most likely, Ngannou will fight his first fight in the league with Wilder

The ex-UFC champion signed a contract with a new structure in the summer

Founder Professional Fighters League (PFL) Donn Davis said that he expects to organize the fight of the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou with former world boxing champion Deontay Wilder.

“We don’t know when exactly Francis will fight in the PFL for the first time. We know that it will definitely be 2024, but the first or last quarter is still unknown. I still expect it to be an MMA fight.”

“And I still think the most likely opponent is Deontay Wilder. It would be an incredible fight. There are two more options, but they are not so interesting, so we won’t talk about it for now.”

Ngannou signed a contract with the PFL in the summer. Popular blogger Jake Paul also has an agreement with the league.

It was previously reported that PFL acquired the Bellator MMA brand. The PFL’s main idea for 2024 is a “mega-event”, which will feature fights between the best champions from both organizations.

Ngannou fought his last fight against Tyson Fury, losing by decision in a fight according to boxing rules. Following the results of the fight, the World Boxing Council (WBC) decided to place the Cameroonian in 10th place in the division.
