Russian figure skater Ksenia Sinitsyna told how she had to train for several days with a broken leg.
On Sunday, November 19, Sinitsyna won the Russian Grand Prix in Samara with a score of 216.08 points.
– You already said that you had a fracture, which the doctors didn’t notice right away, and you continued to train… But I can’t understand how it is possible to skate with a fracture ?
“When you’re told it’s a bruise and there’s nothing to worry about, that means you can survive the injury, right? Well, yes, there is a little pain upon landing, but if it’s a bruise it shouldn’t be serious.
But when the pain lasts ten days, as it did for me, we wondered if it was really a bruise? When I realized it was a fracture, I was also lost… How could I have skated? How did I jump? This could have seriously harmed my health and my leg. The fracture could have healed badly, but everything went well and I am very happy to find myself here in Samara,” Sinitsina is quoted in Sport24.
The next stage of the Russian Grand Prix will be held in Moscow from November 24 to 26.
