Alexander Bolshunov won the 15 km individual race in classic style at the stage of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Cup in Vershina Tei (Republic of Khakassia).
The three-time Olympic champion covered the distance in last place and was 6.3 seconds ahead of the 19-year-old double world junior champion. Savelia Korosteleva . The first three winners of the competition were Sergei Ardashev .
For Bolshunov, 26, this is the third consecutive victory at the start of the Russian Cup season.
Earlier, Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova took first place in the women’s 10 km time trial.
