Dynamo coach – about the victory over Rukh and his work
Acting head coach Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky commented on the team’s victory over Lviv Rukh (2:0) in the 15th round of the UPL.
“Before the game we faced several problems. As you saw, Popov and Voloshin were not included in the application. Vanat also had problems, who did not take part in the last match for the youth team, having received a minor injury. Now, thank God, everything is fine, that’s why he took to the field today. Although his condition is not the best yet, because he has not worked out at all for almost four days.”
“We understood that we would be playing against a young, ambitious team that builds its game by pressing, and in the first half, despite the fact that we ended it with a score of 2:0, we didn’t finish the game somewhere. But in the second half we corrected these mistakes, played more aggressively, did not sit low, but instead met high and brought the game to victory, having the opportunity to increase the score.”
“One note – goalkeepers don’t just stand in the goal, but play. Before every game, football players are nervous before entering the field. This is fine. Once on the field, they must be fully focused on following the coaching instructions and realizing their full potential on the field. But during the game no one is nervous anymore. They just go out on the field and play.”
“Now I feel that everything is completely different. I now understand perfectly why coaching is compared to the electric chair. But this is a normal process, you need to think with a cool head directly about the team’s performance, about how it can be improved, what needs to be done for this, what adjustments to make, how to interact with the players so that they hear what is required of them and do it This”.
Dynamo is in sixth place in the UPL standings, with three games in hand. In the next round of the Ukrainian championship, Shovkovsky’s team will play against Minai.
