Figure skater Maria Paramonova told why she did not include an ultra-si element in the program for the Russian Grand Prix stage in Moscow, and also shared her plans for the future.
Paramonova took 10th place at the Moscow stage. At the second stage of the series in Omsk, the skater became ninth.
— I am not satisfied with the rental because many things did not work. Both stages of the Grand Prix did not go as I wanted, and there are reasons for this (a few days before the Omsk stage, Paramonova’s mother died – note from ). I’m going to work.
— Why didn’t you skip the quadruple Salchow in the free skate?
— During the season, I tried a quadruple Salchow during competitions. In training, he proves unstable. This time we didn’t try, it was our decision with the coach.
— Were you nervous before the test?
“I was very worried, that’s why I had a ridiculous fall on the first jump.” In the short program – which is unusual for me – I wasn’t so worried. I tried to translate my enthusiasm into action.
— What competitions can we expect you to participate in in the future? Are you going to change the content of the jumps?
— As I skated poorly on two stages, I think I won’t be at the next big competitions. In the short program, I plan to change the flip to a loop, because I jump better with a loop. In the free program I will try a quadruple, I will work on my programs,” Paramonova told .
