Maksimov: They stepped on Filippov’s ankle, the main thing is that there was no fracture

Dnepr-1 beat Chernomorets and completed the first round of the 2023/24 Ukrainian Championship in the lead

Head coach Dnepra-1 Yuri Maximov commented on the victory in the 15th round match Ukrainian Premier League above Chernomorets (5:2). The coach spoke about the striker’s serious injury Alexandra Filippova.

“He has a pretty serious injury. They stepped on his ankle. We will do an MRI and the main thing is that at least there is no fracture. That’s why we made a replacement, releasing Tanchik, and Filippov could no longer play.”

Chernomorets is also a very good team. There, the defenders control the ball well and play well one-on-one, and are not afraid to launch an attack. With the score 3:1, we tried to control the ball, but we conceded and there was some fuss. It’s all part of football. Dynamo beat Polesie 2:1, but the Kievans lost 2:3. We were also afraid that it wouldn’t come to this.”

“We have two more games this year – this will be the beginning of the second round. We go out to every game and play. Time will tell what will happen next.”

Filippov opened the scoring in the match with Chernomorets; the forward was replaced during the break. In the second half, Vladimir Adamyuk, Bogdan Lednev, Vladimir Tanchik and Denis Miroshnichenko scored in the Dnipro team. Let us note that from the middle of the first half, Odessa players played with ten men after Artur Avagimyan was sent off.

Dnepr-1 scored 33 points and came out on top in the first round of the 2023/24 season. In the next match, Maksimov’s team will host Vorskla on December 2.
