Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov told that in the near future he may go on a tour with his wife, figure skater Oksana Domnina.
Kostomarov suffered multiple amputations after his hospitalization in early 2023 and was discharged in July.
— You recently spoke at a business forum, where you talked about not seeing yourself in coaching. What field of activity can you find yourself in?
— I want to communicate with people and share my experience. It’s normal to play in front of people, even if it’s a little strange to do it in a seated position, I’m used to creating on the ice and giving joy to people in the stands (smiles) . Today I am deprived of this joy, but I still love interacting with people and hearing the applause. Giving energy to people and receiving it in return is what interests me most today.
Of course, I will continue to support my wife Oksana, who will continue to play on the ice. I will be next to her, but not as a couple, but I will definitely ride with her. There might be a tour that I’ll take part in as well. “Everything has its time,” Kostomarov told .
Kostomarov, together with Tatyana Navka, won the 2006 Turin Olympics in ice dancing, became a two-time world champion and a three-time European champion.
