Katerina defeated the first seed in the second game
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Volodko beat another Ukrainian Daria Snigur in the first round of the ITF series tournament in Slovakia Trnave.
This was the second head-to-head meeting between the two tennis players – in 2019, Snigur beat Volodko in the qualifications of the ITF W100+H tournament in Dubai. At the competition in Trnava, Daria was seeded first.
At the beginning of the match, Snigur led with a break with a score of 3:1, after which a turning point occurred. Katerina won 11 of the next 12 games, defeating her opponent to zero in the second game. Volodko spent a little over an hour on the entire match.
Snigur suffered a second consecutive defeat after winning the title at the tournament in Glasgow. Volodko scored her first victory since October. In the second round, Katerina will meet the winner of the match Alexandra Ignatik (Romania) – Sara Sharinova (Slovakia).
