Armenian gymnast Silva Sarkissian explained to Sport24 the features of tournaments without the participation of Russian athletes.
Is there really a difference in international competitions without Russian athletes?
– It’s very difficult without them, the atmosphere is not the same. As if there was no plot. They are one of the strongest gymnasts, without them it is not interesting.
– What do your gymnastic friends from Russia think about the fact that you have the opportunity to perform on the international scene, but they don’t?
– Arisha and Dina supported me a lot when I went to the European Championship, they supported me. It seems to me that they have no resentment to what I speak, but they do not. They probably understand that there is no one stronger than them,” Sarkissian said.
In March, Russian gymnasts were suspended from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
