At the meeting of the working group, the issue of ensuring the necessary security measures for congress participants was separately discussed
In preparation for Extraordinary Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF)which is scheduled for January 25, 2024, the issue of participation of representatives in the event is being resolved FIFA And UEFA.
“During preparations for the congress, all services of the UAF are involved. In our activities, we use exclusively the UAF Charter and the relevant regulatory documents of FIFA and UEFA. The issue of participation of representatives of these organizations in the work of our congress is currently being resolved. We are also in constant communication with FIFA and UEFA, at their request we inform about all our steps to prepare for the congress,” said the organization’s vice-president Vadim Kostyuchenko.
According to the functionary, at the meeting of the working group the issue of compliance with all security requirements was discussed, in particular, “providing all congress participants with places in shelter in the event of an air raid.”
Let us remind you that earlier the UAF Executive Committee officially approved the holding of the Extraordinary Congress of the UAF on January 25, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Kiev House of Football, starting at 12:00.
The Executive Committee also removed Yuri Zapisotsky from the post of General Secretary. Igor Grishchenko was appointed acting general secretary.
At the Congress, elections will be held for a new president and the governing bodies of the UAF, audit and football justice. At the same time, the previous XXV planned congress will be declared invalid.
Previously, the majority of the collective members of the UAF – regional football associations – made demands for the resignation of Anatoly Demyanenko from the post of first vice-president (UAF), the appointment of an interim secretary general of the organization, as well as an independent audit.
In May, the Pechersky Court of the city of Kyiv extended the suspension of the head of the UAF Andrei Pavelko from his post until July 9, 2023. In mid-June, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Lvov imprisoned Pavelko in a pre-trial detention center for a period of 60 days, then the functionary’s stay in custody was extended.
The bail of 9.88 million hryvnia, which was previously paid for the head of the UAF, was transferred in favor of the state. The latest decision of the Pechersk court extended Pavelko’s stay in the pre-trial detention center until January 18, 2024.
