The Canadian became the 14th goalkeeper-scorer in league history
Goalkeeper Pittsburgh’s Tristan Jarry scored Goal in a match with Tampa (4:2) in a regular season match National Hockey League.
At the end of the meeting, Jarry picked up the puck after a Lightning attack near his goal and threw it across the entire court into the opponents’ empty goal. Tristan’s goal was the final one in the meeting and allowed the Penguins to win.
“It was kind of the perfect scenario. I didn’t even have to handle the puck. I just shot straight away and the puck ended up going in,” the Pittsburgh goalie said.
Jarry became the 14th goalie in NHL history to score a goal. The previous time this was done was by Linus Ullmark from Boston in February 2023. In total, goalies have scored 17 goals in NHL history – Martin Brodeur managed to score three times while playing for New Jersey, Ron Haxtall scored two goals for Philadelphia.
Pittsburgh is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins next host Philadelphia on December 3.
