“There is no clear leader now, the result is unpredictable anyway” – Leonova about the Czech Republic in figure skating

Silver medalist at the 2012 World Championships Alena Leonova shared his expectations from the Russian Figure Skating Championships.

— Which of the girls do you think looks like the leader of the team now?

— In my opinion, there is no clear leader currently. Of course, there will be an interesting battle at the Russian Championship. Sonya Muravyova will absolutely fight for first place, let’s not forget Adelia Petrosyan, whose program is full of quadruple jumps, she has a triple Axel. It will be interesting.

— Do you think Kamila Valieva will be able to maintain her status as the leader of the Russian team or will it be difficult?

– I think he can. Why not? She will prepare, the fight for first place in the Russian Championship will just begin between Kamila, Sonya and Adelia. But it seems to me that the result will be unpredictable anyway, as often happens in women’s single skating,” Leonova was quoted as saying by “Championship”.

The Russian Figure Skating Championship will be held from December 20 to 25 in Chelyabinsk.
