Only thanks to my loved ones, my wife, my brother, who came every day, supported me and told me that we would make this journey together. We need to move on, since this happened, it was probably given for some reason. I didn’t understand why. It’s very cruel. Here, I think, the enormous help of doctors, family and friends, my strong heart also saved me, all my organs failed, they put me into an artificial coma when a microphone -Stroke happened… I don’t know how it happened. continued to beat. I didn’t understand how to get back to normal life. Day after day, a rehabilitation specialist came to me, with whom we began to gradually raise my neck. I started moving my head and raising my arms again, which was very difficult. He hung weights on his arms and legs. Over the course of several months, I simply progressed to the point where I could sit up. It was difficult, my head was spinning. I lost the sense of verticality in life. There was a desire to walk rather than lie down. I wanted to go home alone. This motivated me a lot,” reports Kostomarov’s words.

Kostomarov, together with Tatyana Navka, won the 2006 Turin Olympics in ice dancing, became a two-time world champion and a three-time European champion.
