Andronov’s team convincingly won the battle for third place in the group
Ukrainian women’s handball team beat Kazakhstan in the decisive match of Group G World Cup 2023 — 37:24.
In this match, the fate of third place in the quartet and access to the main stage of the world championship was decided.
The blue-and-yellows confidently coped with the task, being stronger than their opponents in each half.
Let us remind you that in the first two rounds the Ukrainian team suffered two defeats. In the opening match, Vitaly Andronov’s team lost to Brazil (20:35), and then lost to Spain (20:32).
The Ukrainian women’s handball team made it to the World Championship for the first time since 2009. 14 years ago the blue-yellows took 17th place. The best result of the Ukrainian team is fourth place at the 2003 World Cup.
The World Handball Championship among women’s national teams takes place from November 29 to December 17, 2023 in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The current world champion is Norway.
