Roma achieved a strong-willed victory on the road over Sassuolo in the 14th round match Italian Championship – 2:1.
The black-and-greens took the lead for a long time thanks to a goal scored by Matheus Enrique in the middle of the first half. But the Romans turned the tide of the game and managed to score twice in the last quarter of an hour. They did it in the majority – in the 62nd minute, the hosts’ player Daniel Boloka was sent off.
The score was equalized by Paulo Dybala from the penalty spot. The winning goal was scored by Rasmus Christensen, who was helped by a monstrous rebound from the opposing player.
Thanks to the victory, Roma moved up to fifth place, one point ahead of Napoli. The Neapolitans will be able to break away – they have a home match against Inter today. Sassuolo is fifteenth.
In the next round, Roma will host Fiorentina, and Sassuolo will play away against Cagliari.
