Shakhtar’s ex-midfielder is a hot target on the winter transfer market

The management of the club from Porto Alegre has been trying for several months to reach an agreement with the 32-year-old player on a contract extension, which expires in April 2025. The weak point of this agreement is the amount of compensation, which amounts to 27 million reais (just over 5 million euros).
Internacional is eager to renegotiate the agreement in order to include a higher clause in it. However, according to Brazilian press reports, the parties have made no progress in negotiations. Already, a number of high-status Brazilian clubs (their names have not yet been disclosed) are exploring the possibility of transferring an experienced playmaker for the above amount.
The midfielder already played for this Brazilian club in the 2013/2014 season, playing on loan from Shakhtar. In April 2022, taking advantage of the FIFA annex, the Brazilian left the Donetsk club and entered into a three-year agreement with Internacional.
For Shakhtar, the Brazilian footballer from 2011 to 2022 (with breaks) played 178 matches, scored 26 goals, and gave 35 assists. As part of Internacional, he has 122 matches, 24 goals and 18 assists.
The Brazilian Championship will end next Thursday, November 7th. Internacional, despite the winning streak in the last three rounds, has no tournament motivation – the team coached by Eduardo Coudet does not finish higher than 9th place.
In the last round, Inter will host Botafogo, who failed in the title race but are fighting for a place in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. Palmeiras became the champion of Brazil 2023 one round before the finish.
