Figure skater Radionova: “When I had hip problems, I discovered Pilates, it helped me reduce the pain”

Russian figure skating champion Elena Radionova, in a conversation with , told how she keeps herself in shape.

24-year-old Radionova retired from acting in September 2020. The athlete works as a choreographer at CSKA.

– I want to compliment you, you are in great shape now, you look very good. What kind of life do you lead? How do you monitor your figure?

— Now I am more beautiful than when I was an athlete. This can also be seen in the numbers on the scale. Even if I don’t make much effort. In sports, I counted every gram, I only ate steamed, without salt, and I watched everything I put in my mouth. Now I no longer limit myself, but I also don’t want to eat something harmful. I eat clean. I can eat sweets, but rarely do I eat too many. I only drink water, I have cut out tea and coffee for medical reasons. My husband is an athlete (Konstantin Kuchaev, CSKA footballer – approx. “”), he eats well and I accompany him. We eat proteins and salads. When I cook, I hardly add any salt to my food, and of course I don’t add any sauces. Good nutrition has become my way of life.

– Are you going to play sports?

— As for sport, I have an active job. It turns out that physical activity already exists. Plus, I’ve been doing Pilates for about ten years now, it’s my lifeline. When I had problems with my hip I discovered Pilates, it helped reduce the pain. After finishing my career, my legs and back started to hurt, so to build a muscular corset, I regularly do Pilates twice a week. It turns out that I live an active lifestyle and eat well. And when I see my reflection in the mirror, I want to take care of myself even more,” Radionova told .
