Figure skater Radionova said she would be happy to perform again at the show program tournament

Bronze medalist at the World Championships Elena Radionova told that she was ready to compete in the TV show tournament again.

Last season, Radionova took 17th place at the Russian Challenge show program tournament. In the 2023/24 season, the tournament will take place in March in St. Petersburg.

— You’re not participating in the show?

– Very rarely. The last show I participated in was “Cinderella” by Evgeni Plushenko. Then quarantine started, I didn’t skate for two years, I lost shape.

Of course, I want to continue performing in global shows like “Art on Ice”, Kim Young Ah’s show or Denis Ten’s show. But in the current situation, we can only act within the country.

It’s not so interesting for me to ride in fairy tales, I don’t feel very comfortable there. I would like to play in the image of Lena Radionova, and not a character. Sometimes they invite me, I accept and I skate because I miss the public. But now, you see me more often on the sidelines than on the ice.

— If they invite you again to a show program tournament, will you perform?

– There are ideas. If it works, I’ll be happy to play. I liked the format of the tournament, I felt a competitive atmosphere, a slight nervousness,” Radionova told .

Radionova won bronze at the 2015 World Championships, she also has two silver medals at the European Championships and a victory at the 2017 Universiade. The figure skater retired in 2020.
