About fifty track and field athletes from Russia and Belarus, part of the international control group, took part on Thursday in an online anti-doping seminar organized by the independent body for combating negative phenomena in athletics (Integrity Unit of Athletics), the All-Russian Athletics Association. Reports from the Federation (ARAF).
It should be noted that during the one and a half hour seminar, participants were informed of their rights and responsibilities and had their questions answered.
— AIU representatives emphasized that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is responsible for the quality of the ADAMS website and the Athlete Central application. But in case of any problem, especially when logging in or entering data regarding your location, athletes should immediately email the AIU. At the same time, the absence of the Internet cannot be considered a mitigating circumstance if an athlete violates any of the points of the anti-doping rules, the message says.
Currently, the AIU international testing group includes 40 Russian athletes, including Maria Lasitskene, Anzhelika Sidorova, Danil Lysenko, Polina Knoroz and others.
In March, it was announced that ARAF was once again a member of World Athletics after seven years, but that the Russians’ suspension from international competitions had been extended due to the situation in Ukraine.
