Swimming world record holder Kliment Kolesnikov told that with the current criteria for admission to international competitions, he will not be able to go to the Paris Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee has decided to allow Russians in neutral status to participate in the Paris Games. Swimmers must qualify for the Games by obtaining neutral status from World Aquatics, the conditions of which are considered unacceptable by the All-Russian Swimming Federation.
“It is good that the IOC has, in principle, taken this step and made an admission decision. Another thing is that the conditions for obtaining neutral status from World Aquatics remain the same. If you disagree with them, you do not get neutral status from World Aquatics. If you don’t get neutral status, you don’t qualify for the Olympics.
I can only speak for myself. There are guys who are ready to accept these conditions from the international federations and perform. I will be happy for them if they go to the Olympics. “I can’t accept this,” Kolesnikov told .
