The current champion of Ukraine today stunned with a statement about withdrawal from the FAVBET Super League
The president Ukrainian Basketball Federation (FBU) Mikhail Brodsky commented on the unexpected decision of the capital Budivelnik to withdraw from the current FAVBET Super League.
“For all of us, of course, this is a shock and a big shock. The club lost sponsorship and decided to withdraw from the championship. so as not to accumulate debts.”
“Today, everyone understands how difficult it is with sponsorship support, because the vast majority of social projects of Ukrainian companies are aimed at helping the army and this is understandable. Budivelnik could not find alternative support and therefore was forced to take this step.”
“In turn, I want to note that we have a few more days to save this project. If sponsors or philanthropists are ready to support Budivelnik, then the FBU can act as an intermediary. At one time we were doing this behind the scenes, but now we are coming out with an official appeal. It is likely that the structure of this club could exist in the form of a joint stock company, but without a global partner or the interest of several sponsors, this is impossible.”
“For many, Budivelnik’s statement came as a shock. But everyone needs to understand that these are the realities today and the Federation lives in the format of a struggle to preserve almost every Super League club. The average fan doesn’t see most of the problems, and he doesn’t need to see it, but during the war there is a struggle for the existence of each club.”
“It’s hard for everyone, everyone has problems to a lesser or greater extent, the struggle continues. Now we have 10 more Super League clubs and at least one of them was also in a difficult situation. Together we managed to fix it.”
Today, Kiev residents reported the loss of sponsorship and lack of funding. Budivelnik is forced to withdraw from the current championship so as not to increase debts to the players and the club administration.
The capital’s team takes second place in the current Super League, having won 10 victories. In the last match, Dmitry Zabirchenko’s team defeated Krivbass by a margin of 40 points.
Budivelnik is the current champion of Ukraine. The capital’s team has won the national title 11 times.
