Russian coach Nikita Lugovkin received neutral status from the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) as a specialist working with Belarusian athlete Anastasia Shkurdai.
As learned, the status was obtained specifically to accompany and work with Shkurdai at international competitions.
Shkurdai also has a neutral status. Belarusian swimmers participated in the World Cup this season.
World Aquatics allows Russians to compete in neutral status in accordance with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. The criteria also include a ban on speaking to the media at major tournaments.
