Russian coaches Elena Karpeeva and Nikita Lugovkin were granted access to international competitions with a neutral status, reports the press service of the independent organization for combating negative phenomena in aquatic sports (AQIU).
World Championship medalist Andrei Minakov is a student of Karpeeva and Lugovkin.
The AQIU also granted neutral status to Belarusian swimmers Vasilina Kozyr, Grigory Pekarsky, Ruslan Skomoroshko and Viktor Staselovich.
World Aquatics (International Swimming Federation) allows Russians to compete in neutral status in accordance with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. The criteria also include a ban on speaking to the media at major tournaments.
