All results of matches with his participation will be canceled
Basketball club Budivelnik officially excluded from the participants FAVBET Super Leagues.
This decision was made by the department of organization and holding of competitions Ukrainian Basketball Federation (FBU) after considering the capital club’s appeal to terminate participation in the current Super League.
Guided by the FIBA Official Rules, it was decided to cancel the results of all matches played with the participation of BC Budivelnik in the FAVBET Super League 2023/24.
Accordingly, the teams’ points scored and conceded in games with Budivelnik from the beginning of the regular season will also be cancelled.
At the same time, the statistics of the players that they received during games with the participation of BC Budivelnik will remain in force.
As it became known on December 9, Budivelnik sent a letter to the FBU about his withdrawal from the FAVBET-2023/24 Super League championship.
Kiev residents reported a loss of sponsorship and lack of funding. The team was forced to withdraw so as not to increase debts to the players and the club administration.
On the same day, the president of the federation, Mikhail Brodsky, expressed hope that the titled capital club could still be saved. According to him, “we have a few more days to save this project. If sponsors or patrons are ready to support Budivelnik, then the FBU can act as an intermediary.”
Obviously, nothing changed in three days, and the FBU was forced to take the necessary measures. Last season Budivelnik won his 11th championship title in history, and in the current championship he was second with 10 victories after 13 matches.
Yesterday, December 11, coach Dmitry Zabirchenko, who until the last days worked in Budivelnik and led the team to the championship title, took charge of Kyiv-Basket.
