The contract is for 2.5 years
Belgian coach Rick De Mil officially headed Westerlo. The parties entered into a contract for 2.5 years.
De Mil is known for his work with Bruges youth teams. From March to June 2023, he led the first team of the black and blues, and then became assistant to Ronny Deila.
While working with Brugge, he crossed paths with defender Eduard Sobol and forward Roman Yaremchuk. Let us note that another Ukrainian plays in Westerlo – midfielder Sergei Sidorchuk. This season, the 32-year-old midfielder has scored 1 goal in 11 matches for the Belgian team.
Westerlo ranks 14th in the Belgian Championship. Sidorchuk’s team will play the next match against Eupen on December 15.
