Triple Olympic medalist in swimming Yulia Efimova became the first at a distance of 50 meters breaststroke as part of the international tournament of the Vladimir Salnikov Cup, which takes place in St. Petersburg.
The athlete covered the distance in 29.76 seconds. The second was Nika Godun (29.85), third world record holder Evgenia Chikunova (29.98). Efimova entered the final swim wearing a flamingo costume.
This season, the 31-year-old is participating in tournaments in Russia for the first time in two years. For Efimova, this victory was the fourth of the season, previously the swimmer won first place three times at the competitions of the Astrakhan Federal District.
Among men over the same distance at the Salnikov Cup, the best was Belarusian Ilya Shimanovich (25.59). Oleg Kostin took second place (25.79), another Russian swimmer Danil Semyaninov took third place (26.28).
The tournament takes place in St. Petersburg from December 16 to 18.
