“I respect Rylov’s position, but there is a problem – he is not expected at the Paris Olympics” – Guberniev about the swimmer’s decision not to go to the Olympics

Presenter and commentator at Dmitry Guberniev said he respected the position of the two-time Olympic champion Evgenia Rylova who will not go to the Olympic Games in Paris, but noted that the Russian swimmer was not expected at these competitions.

On Sunday, Rylov said on that he was not going to follow the example of the International Olympic Committee (CIO ) and refuses to go to the Paris Olympic Games.

— I respect Evgeny Rylov’s position, but there is a big problem: personally, he is not welcome there. He is already a double Olympic champion, he has every right to say that,” Guberniev told the correspondent.

On December 8, the IOC announced that it would allow Russian and Belarusian athletes who successfully qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics to have individual neutral status. In Paris, Russian and Belarusian athletes can only compete without a flag, anthem and other national symbols.
