The Russian national team of Stepan Kalabin, Yegor Bakhur, Kirill Litvinov and Nikita Tupilin set a junior world record in the 4 x 50 meter medley relay at the Vladimir Salnikov Swimming Cup.
The athletes finished fifth in the final round of the competition with a time of 1 minute 36.44 seconds. Thus, the swimmers exceeded the previous record, also posted by the Russian team, by 0.23 seconds.
The victory in the final was won by the St. Petersburg team (Miron Lifintsev, Kirill Prigoda, Roman Shevlyakov, Egor Kornev), with a time of 1:31.53.
The St. Petersburg team (Alexandra Kurilkina, Evgenia Chikunova, Svetlana Chimrova, Daria Ustinova) also won the women’s 4x50m medley relay – 1.46.89.
