On August 28, Gorbacheva disappeared in Moscow, she left the Chkalov Arena ice rink and did not return home. A large-scale search was carried out and for several hours nothing was known about Gorbachev’s whereabouts. Gorbachev was later discovered by police in a cinema in one of the shopping centers.
— Have the conversations surrounding the situation this summer affected your preparation for the season?
“At first it was very difficult, but my loved ones helped me manage everything. To Sofya Anatolyevna (Fedchenko, figure skating coach – Editor’s note) Thank you very much to all my coaches. They helped me not to dwell on the bad, to quickly forget everything and start from scratch.
How quickly were you able to turn this page?
– Thanks to my loved ones – quite quickly.
— At first, did the coaching staff or did you yourself try to limit yourself in the comments that people left on the topic?
– Yes, I tried not to read, because everyone saw this situation in their own way. Everyone has a different opinion. Personally, I didn’t read anything, I tried not to worry. I perfectly understood that if I started reading the comments, I would become very motivated and it would be even worse for me,” Gorbatcheva was quoted as saying by Metaratings.ru.
