Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova said she was touched by the return of the Olympic champion Romana Kostomarova on the ice.
Kostomarov suffered several amputations after being hospitalized in January. On Sunday, he performed at Ilya Averbukh’s anniversary show, appearing for the first time on skates at the end of his wife Oksana Domnina’s show with Maxim Shabalin. To be continued with Tatiana Navka he performed the “Carmen” program, with this free dance the skaters won the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin.
– A true hero! I was very touched that Roman managed to get on skates, as well as his performance with Tanya. It’s great that she came to support him,” Tarasova said, as quoted by RT.
