Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov has spoken about his goal for 2024.
— What goals have you set for next year? “My goal is to survive January 10,” Kostomarov said at the Championship.
In early 2023, Kostomarov was hospitalized due to complications from pneumonia. The athlete began to suffer from tissue necrosis and underwent several amputations. Kostomarov then underwent prosthetic surgery, and in December he returned to the ice on skates for the first time, participating in a performance by choreographer Ilya Averbukh.
Kostomarov, in a duet with Tatyana Navka, also won the World Championships twice and the European Championships three times.
